Coach Stephen Butler was born in the basketball crazy city of Philadelphia, PA and raised in Westampton, NJ where he played Varsity Football and Basketball for Rancocas Valley Regional High School of Mt. Holly, NJ. While attending RVRHS he won a Group IV Basketball state championship playing alongside great players such as McDonald’s All-American Danny Miller. Stephen was voted first team All Burlington County and Times area player of the year in 2000 avg 17 ppg before accepting a Division I scholarship to play for Morehead State University in Morehead, Ky.
After red shirting his freshman year due to an injury, Stephen Butler decided to transfer to Mercer County Community College where he went on to become a Third Team NJCAA All-American averaging 22 ppg (13th in the nation), 87% from the free throw line (2nd in the nation) and 41% from the 3pt line. Stephen went on to finish his collegiate career at Livingstone College in Salisbury, NC (division II) where he continued to show his prowess from the three point line shooting over 42% in his last two years, winning the team's defensive player of the year as well.
Professional- Stephen went on to play for Wilson Hardhats of the WBA, the Delaware First State Fusion, and the Jersey Express teams of the ABA. Stephen made a career decision to help others by putting his college degree to work.
Still with the passion for the game of basketball Stephen Butler began working with Fastbreak Sports in 2011 to develop young kids into fundamentally sound basketball players using his countless years of playing experience. Stephen currently combines his love for sports and people to mentor kids through life coaching and basketball training.
